U18 Premier League- Game 2
Arsenal 2 Fulham 4
Midfielder Dan Crowley scored his first competitive goal for Arsenal U18s, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Gunners from suffering a 4-2 defeat at the hands of their Fulham counterparts at London Colney today.
Having prevailed with a 2-1 victory in their opening game against Liverpool, Carl Laraman’s side were determined to continue their positive start to the season, but found themselves 3-2 down at the interval following an eventful first-half.
Laraman kept faith with the vast majority of the side from last week’s game, with the only change seeing Austin Lipman restored to the starting line-up in place of Chris Willock.
Arsenal’s goals came courtesy of a Leander Siemann strike which took a deflection and Crowley, who scored a fine individual effort, but they were undone all too easily at the other end on several occasions by a potent Fulham attack.
Fulham added another goal in the second-half to seal the victory, but there were still some positives to take from the day for the young Gunners, one of which was the fact that Willock received another run-out as a substitute.
Arsenal face a long trip to Sunderland next Saturday for a game that is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm.
Arsenal: Huddart; Siemann, O’Connor, Dallison, Uade; Kamara, Jebb; Maitland-Niles, Crowley, Iwobi; Lipman. Subs: Willock, Wright, Olomola.
