48. Sead Hajrović

Reserve apps: 24 (1 goal)

Under-18 apps: 24

Loan spells: Barnet (2012)

Young defender Sead experienced his first taste of professional football last season, making 10 appearances for Barnet as the North London side escaped relegation from League Two.

Capable of playing at either centre-back or right-back, Sead had previously established himself as a regular for Arsenal’s Reserves under the tutelage of Neil Banfield, making seven starts at that level last season. Prior to that, he was part of the Switzerland side that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2009, whilst he also played a key role in Arsenal’s Premier Academy League triumph the following year.

Firm in the tackle and increasingly competent at reading the game, Sead does still experience some lapses in concentration that have threatened to hinder his progress since his move to the club from Grasshoppers in 2009. This season, he is likely to start in the Reserves once more ahead of another loan spell later in the season.

Born June 4, 1993

Signed scholarship Summer 2009

Signed professional July 2010
