Having gained considerable experience at Reserve and youth level over the past few years, imposing centre-back Daniel gained his first taste of senior football last season.
He made his Arsenal first-team debut as a late substitute in the Carling Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers at Emirates Stadium prior to heading to League Two side Swindon Town on loan.
Daniel only made three appearances for Swindon, but cited how the experience was beneficial to him, and he also racked up 14 appearances for the Gunners at Reserve level last season, impressing alongside a range of central defensive partners including Sebastien Squillaci.
Strong in the tackle but still prone to lapses in concentration at crucial moments, Daniel was part of the Arsenal under-18s side which secured the Premier Academy League title in 2010, and is also capable of operating at right-back or as a defensive midfielder if required.
This season he will be hoping for a more sustained loan spell in the lower divisions.
