38. Martin Angha

Reserve apps 31

Under-18 apps 38 (1 goal)

Swiss defender Martin established himself as a key figure in the Reserve side last season, featuring more times at that level than any other Arsenal player.

In all he made 22 second-string outings to add to his previous appearances having first been called into the Reserves squad shortly after his move from FC Zurich was completed in 2010. He was also due to be in the first-team squad for the Champions League trip to Olympiacos last season but couldn’t feature due to a registration problem.

A good reader of the game who also provides a threat going forward, Martin is a versatile player and can operate in both full-back berths as well as his preferred position of centre-back. He is occasionally rash in the tackle and can lose concentration at times but has certainly developed well since his move from his homeland.

In addition to his exploits for the Reserves, Martin also turned out 8 times for the under-18s and trained with the first-team on several occasions. This season he will be hoping for a place in the squad for the Capital One Cup and may also experience his first loan spell.
