50. Damián Martínez

A promising goalkeeper with good reflexes who was signed from Independiente, Damian made his Arsenal first-team debut this season, featuring twice in the early rounds of the Capital One Cup, but his performance level in the two games contrasted dramatically.

The Argentina U20 international, who has also been called up by his country at senior level, was impressive during the 6-1 demolition of Coventry City at Emirates Stadium as he commanded his area with authority, but endured a night to forget as he conceded a handful of goals in the dramatic 7-5 win over Reading in the following round, including one strike which he helped into his own net.

The goalkeeper recovered from that blow, however, and was named on the bench in the Premier League on ten occasions, whilst also featuring 15 times for the U21s, pulling off some stunning saves in the process.

This season, with question marks over the future of both Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone, Damian could earn a place in the first-team squad, although a loan spell in the lower leagues may also be in the offing at some point, where the shot-stopper will look to add to the experience he gained during a one-game spell with Oxford United in 2012.
