67. Oguzhan Özyakup

Dutch playmaker Oguzhan settled into life at Arsenal swiftly and made a strong impression during his first year at the club.
Plucked from AZ Alkmaar in April 2008, Oguzhan linked up with his new team-mates ahead of the 2008/09 campaign and travelled to France for the Cannes Tournament in which the Gunners reigned supreme.
His good form for Steve Gatting’s under-16s soon caught the attention of Steve Bould and, before long, ‘Ozzie’ was developing into something of a regular at u-18 level.
He made his debut away to Norwich and followed it up with an impressive performance away to Ipswich, where he operated ‘in the hole’ for the majority of the encounter.
In the second-half of the season, as many of the u-18s pushed into the Reserves, Oguzhan found himself on the team-sheet for virtually every match and impressed as Bould’s boys galloped towards the title.
He chipped in with four goals, too, as he saw his stock rise considerably and was also an un-used substitute in the FA Youth Cup and the Reserves.
‘Ozzie’ concluded the season by captaining the Netherlands u-17s to the Final of the UEFA u-17 European Championships in Germany, scoring in the opening group game against England and creating countless chances for the tournament’s joint top scorer Luc Castaignos.
