43. Conor Henderson

Irish youth international Conor bounced back from an injury nightmare to play a part in some of the under-18s most important games last season.

After a superb end to 2007/08 and a good start to the new season, Conor was handed his Reserves debut away to Portsmouth in September, when he came on as a substitute. However, disaster struck when, just moments after his arrival on the field, he fell akwardly and it was later revealed that he had suffered medial knee ligament damage, with the initial prognosis ruling him out for the rest of the season.

This situation casted immediate doubt over his future at the club, but Liam Brady was quick to re-assure Conor, a graduate of the Hale End academy, and offered him professional terms.

This gave Conor a much-needed boost and he returned earlier than expected, in the under-18s final group game against Cardiff, during which he set up the only goal of the game with a superbly architechted pass.

He went on to make sub appearances in both the semi-final and Final of the Academy League play-offs and also both legs of the FA Youth Cup Final.

Conor earned his first call up to the first-team for the pre-season friendly with Barnet at Underhill in July 2009.
