Jeorge Bird’s Arsenal Reserves and Youth blog was established in December 2007 as a tool for me to express my views on the Reserve and Youth teams at Arsenal.
It is featured on both NewsNow and Goonersnews and offers up to date information on the stars of tomorrow, including match previews, match reports, loan news and much more. The site is also open to contributions, so if you would like to suggest an article or could offer any information, then just ask.

Not too sure it was a good idea to set up this website, I think there is a possibility that these “children” may get a bit above their station and believe they are superstars before they have established themselves even at reserve level.
From another angle, I use Jack Wilshere as an example…too much attention will only add needless pressure to young heads. Also what do Arsenal’s Academy make of the website?
Any thoughts?

I realise that a lot of these players are unlikely to make it at Arsenal. Only Justin Hoyte has done it in the last few years. The purpose of this website is to tell people about the future players, although i’m sure they realise that they are probably not going to make it here, they may go on to make it elsewhere. I realised that people wanted to know about these players and that they would be interested in finding out more about them

We will find out in 3 to 4 years!
I am not questioning your motives but I am not convinced the website will do no harm.

i’m not saying these players will be superstars, i’m merely saying how good they are now and whether they have a good chance of making the first team. A website can’t exactly destroy a players career.

Hello, what a wonderful site this is, I truely admire your work. I was wondering where could I watch Arsenal Reserve matches? I know the new Arsenal TV of Setanta Sports features all games of the Arsenal Reserves, but, unfortunaly its not available to my country. Is there anyother way to watch the Arsenal Reserves? Torrents maybe? If so please post a link to the website.
Thanks alot for you fantastic work

In response to Steve’s concerns… I agree with his point but I believe the website has much value, if done correctly. I came upon the site on a random google search so its my first taste, but as an avid fan I like knowing about the youth/reserve players, if just merely to satisfy my curiosity at a minimum. I guess where, I’m going is that the blog hasn’t a huge audience. We aren’t going to see the views expressed on this site as headlines on the Daily Mirror tomorrow. So whilst I am all for keeping the “children” well within their “station” ie, keeping them firmly grounded with nothing on their minds but their football and their familly, a belive it could prove an excellent medium to educate fans about the prospects such that when those players do get their big break, the fans are behind those players, and they have a few things to shout in encouragement on their debut…. for instance in a dead rubber against sunderland on the last day of the season…this way the players feel part of the club and the fan base and may feel more committed to trying to make it at arsenal football club

Hello, mate.
Have been reading your blog/articles/whatever for quite a while now.
Just wondering if there’s any chance you can do a bit of a link switch?
That would be amazing.
All the best,
