He is playing behind Andy Carroll, watch for yourself if you don’t believe me.

He has played there before when he was in the u18s.

yes he’s playing there, he has the n.10 shirt

Yeah i’m watching it. a rather quiet game though, not the most entertaining.

Awful game as usual, no forward passing, no vision, poor decision making, poor technique in tight space.
Thats what we are at national youth level and senior level, we dont play enough one-touch combination passing game, instead its a game of brute strength, speed & aggression. Extremely annoying

thats always been with England… they play like a championship side!

I watched the last 15 minutes and thought it was patently obvious that Gibbs was uncomfortable with his role. He didn’t really do anything right unfortunately. I was very impressed with Andy Carroll, he might be a candidate for a new powerful striker for the Arsenal squad as we only have one of those…

Not a chance, what level do you think we play @? yes he is physical and good in the air but nothing else

Crafty Bison – who may that “powerful striker” be?

Bendtner… do you not follow Arsenal?
Tony said
Course I follow Arsenal. I just don’t think we have a powerful striker at all.
Bendtner in my opinion is just tall. Yes he can hold the ball but he is far from a powerful striker. But that’s just my opinion…

I was excited before the game and was even more excited when I saw Gibbs playing but the game was kind a boring so I quitted watching after 15 min. I wanted to see Lansbury in the middle but ohh well.. Jay Simpson should have been in the squad after all his goals in QPR.

Forgot about the game! Sounds like I didn’t miss much, though.
Probably will download it later to see how Gibbs did. Did Lansbury manage to get off the bench?

Unfortunately, Lansbury didn’t get off the bench mate. As soon as JB posted this article up with the starting XI and the subs i knew he wouldn’t get off the bench. I have a feeling he might get a look-in against Lithuania next Tuesday though.
JB – Can you provide a link to the Lithuania game next Tuesday much like you did with this one mate? It was much appreciated.

He was simply a class above every single other player on the pitch (including Darren Fletcher) for the 55 mins or so he played in. Ran the show.

stupid decision by Pearce to pick Gibbs as second striker and leave Lansbury out of the side, if any one in the squad was ideal for the role it is Lansbury

Pearce does the exact opposite Wenger does.
Wenger likes to move players a bit backward on the pitch, like with Kolo Toure, Nasri, Gibbs.
Gibbs would never make it as a left winger. But he is gonna make a great left back.

Gibbs should be first!
