Loanees- Emmanuel-Thomas super-strike not enough for Blackpool, 5 other Gunners in action

Arsenal loanee Jay Emmanuel-Thomas hit a sublime goal for the Seasiders but it wasn’t enough to earn a victory for Ian Holloway’s Blackpool side against Doncaster, with the match ending 3-3 after a tumultuous affair at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Martin Woods put the hosts ahead before Ian Evatt levelled for Blackpool. Billy Sharp restored Doncaster’s lead but Emmanuel-Thomas made it 2-2 with an excellent strike after showing some neat touches. Ben Burgess then produced a similarly superb goal to edge Blackpool ahead but Sharp struck again in the dying moments to ensure it ended honours even.

Henri Lansbury played the whole game as Watford were thumped 5-0 by new Championship leaders West Brom at the Hawthorns. Goals from Jonas Olsson, Graham Dorrans (pen), Luke Moore, Gianni Zuiverloon and Simon Cox saw off the Hornets, who were accused of a lack of interest by their fans.

Jay Simpson couldn’t keep up his excellent recent scoring record as QPR surrendered a one-goal lead to eventually lose to 2-1 to Leicester on Friday night. Adel Tarrabt put Rangers ahead, but a Matty Fryatt brace ensured it was the Foxes who went home happy.

Gavin Hoyte played the whole game as Brighton and Hartlepool shared six goals in an entertaining draw. Hartlepool took an early lead through Adam Boyd but strikes from Liam Dickinson and Nicky Forster put Brighton ahead, before Pool levelled via Richie Jones in first-half stoppage time. But Forster struck again after the interval to earn victory for the Seagulls.

Havard Nordtveit impressed as part of a three man midfield as Nuremburg drew 2-2 with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. Christian Eigler and Albert Bunjaku put Nuremburg ahead, but Leverkusen restored parity thanks to a classy brace from Aaron Hunt.

Pedro Botelho was in action as Celta lost 2-0 to Real Union, with Gorka Brit notching a goal in each half.
