Derby interested in Randall loan + Vela injured for Mexico

Arsenal midfielder Mark Randall could spend next season in the Championship, after reports emerged suggesting that Derby County are interested in taking him on loan.
Randall, who captained Arsenal Reserves last season, has been on the periphery of the first-team for three seasons without making a significant breakthrough, and his chances were hindered further by the arrival of Aaron Ramsey from Cardiff.
Arsenal have a good relationship with the Rams, who took striker Nacer Barazite on loan last campaign, and this could prove to be an excellent opportunity for Randall to show that he has the quality to break into the first-team squad.

In other news, forward Carlos Vela is a doubt for Mexico’s next Gold Cup game after picking up an injury in the early stages of yesterday’s 2-0 victory over Nicaragua.
Vela was the victim of a clattering tackle from behind with just 5 minutes on the clock and failed to recover before being replaced by Medina.
Goals from Luis Miguel Noriega and Pablo Berrara gave Javier Aguirre’s side all three points and Mexico now sit top of their group ahead of the next round of fixtures, which sees them face Panama on Thursday.

I think its time for Randall to go on loan with a Champioship club with a view to a permanent transfer if it works out for him. I think he’ll do well in the Championship but he is a long way from being Premiership material at the moment.
Could be a good move if we can’t get Premier League club interested in taking him. He was at Burnley before, perhaps they’d fancy taking him back.
I hope randall makes it at arsenal. He showed he is prem class in the carling cup also how long does he have left on his arsenal contract ?
i want arsenal to go all the way
How old is Randall these days? I think a loan with a sell-on option is best.
Same age as Gibbs but his position is far more competitive.
Not Prem class for me and I’d personally prefer to see Ramsey, Lansbury or Coquelin (all of whom are younger than Randall) given a chance and I feel they are better prospects for the future presently.
He’ll probably be a decent Championship player but for me Randall is a long way off being a possible first team squad member in my opinion.
Randall isnt as athletic as his midfield rivals but technicque-wise, composure & intelligence , he is ahead of them. He just needs to improve ball interception, reduce his tackling and improve physically & concentration-wise.
Mark Randall is a neat midfielder who is comfortable on the ball, but monopaced and doesn’t have that extra quality that turns games at the highest level. He’ll do OK making up the numbers in a game against Sunderland or Wolves but won’t be much use in a Champions League game against anyone. He’s David Hillier basically.
I personally think that Mark Randell needs to be playing first team football, because he has realy gone stale the last year or so, by playing far to much reserve team football IMO.
