Video-Watch Vela’s goal for Mexico against Venezuela

Arsenal striker Carlos Vela was amongst the goals as Mexico warmed up for their Gold Cup campaign with a comprehensive 4-0 demolition of a below-par Venezuela side in an international friendly last night.

Vela opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time following a neat interchange with Tottenham’s Giovani dos Santos, who had a spell on loan at Ipswich Town last season.

Dos Santos went on to score a brace, with Omar Arellano, who plays for Vela’s former club Guadalajara, adding gloss to the victory.
