Exclusive- Arsenal’s new signing Martin Angha + Video

Arsenal may have just won the FA Youth Cup but that doesn’t stop them preparing for the future.
The club have completed the signing of 15 year-old FC Zürich defender Martin Angha on a schoolboy contract which will become a scholarship on his 16th birthday.
Angha, full name Martin Angha-Lötscher, had been watched by Liam Brady’s coaching staff for the past six months and came to the fore during the recent Nike Cup qualifiers.
The tall Swiss linked up with his team-mates for the first time late last week and received executive box tickets for him and his family to take in the final game of the season at home to Stoke City. He was subsequently given a guided tour around the club’s state-of-the-art training ground at London Colney before making his first appearance in a Gunners shirt on Tuesday in front of 3000 people at Emirates Stadium for the u-15s in their 2-1 victort over Chelsea.
Angha is comfortable all across the back four but prefers to play at centre-back and impressed during the low-key fixture at Emirates. At 183 centimetres tall he is not quite in Ignasi Miquel’s range but still possesses a threat from set-pieces and was one of the most highly regarded talents at his previous clubs.
You will no doubt be hearing a lot more about this precocious talent in the months and years to come and below is a slideshow from his involvement in the aforementioned Nike Cup qualifiers.

how did you get thee exclusive? and what style of CB is he?
hey get your facts right ,,, martin was seen by one of shaun o’conners scouts … BEFORE anyone
he is very tall and strange for a 15-years-old-teenager. I have asked a expert from fc zürich and he said me,that angha is extremely fast and could have be an athlete in his home country switzerland. Furthermore he said to me,that angha first position is the right back and not ne centre back.
Wow so tall !
martin was first seen at will in switzerland by one of the hale end scouts , shaun o’conner who is in charge of the scouting sent a scout to watch arsenal u14 play and he saw martin first .. so hats of to the scouting system that is run by shaun o’conner and his team
Great to see we’re as relentless as ever when it comes to building Europes finest youth academy. Althought it doesn’t seem like it now the future of the club looks to be in great shape.
All of us want success now & care so much that it kills to watch teams like Utd & Chelsea lifting cups year in year out.
But to embark on such a strategic plan let alone make it the foundation of the clubs chances of success will go down in history as one of the greatest sporting management models of all time. I accept it has been done before but I believe that the Arsenal model will go from strenght to strenght spanning continents where others failed.
I thought nigel neita is 6ft 4? Martin Anngha we definitely need some quality full backs? Whats ur opinion on cedric evina? Can he make it here at arsenal?
…and was one of the most highly regarded talents at his previous clubs… this wasn`t quite necessary
Apparently arsenal will sign jamie edge as well

beauty…
arsenal aren’t signing clyne, he’s an established talent at palace, and a regular in there starting team, probably better talent than bostock and moses, but wont be sold as easily as bostock.
trust me
looks like a good talent this kid, but he’s really young, isn’t it against FIFA rules to sign kids under 15? It’s getting a bit absurd, soon we will be signing 12 year olds!
We do need some defenders though. What’s are academy doing?>!
Ayling, Bartley, Nordveit & Hoyte are all good young CBs who if continues to improve mentally, physically & technically, have massive future. Whats your beef? Stop talking nonsense
I just moved to Switzerland. I never seen him play before but I heard his name mentioned quite a bit before, they say he’s definitely one for the future. Never heard that Arsenal was signing him though.
i wass the one who found about it : trust me, this kid has got pace like walcott
jeorge do u think Cruise is better as a Centre half or Left back? I like cruise he kept david amoo very quiet he didnt really get past him. Cruise has got the inteligence and good postional sense u can see why england managers rate him very highly. He played alongside jack rodwell for gods sakes he must be good
Well Man U did sign a nine year old before (Rhian Davies) at the time he lived in Australia, so his whole family moved to rainy manchester.
Beckham did move from London to Manchester aswell. so this practice is common. Although i dont think they can offically sign players until their 16th birthday.
Have to go some to be fast Tim mate, you got the likes of Monakana and Glasgow with pace. Especially Glasgow, has good athletics future ahead aswell
I saw him a few days ago at the youngsters, and he is amazing!
