Loanees- Goal and assist for Lansbury, Gilbert can’t prevent Foxes defeat + Pedro

Henri Lansbury- Scunthorpe 3 Colchester 0

Henri played a key role in Scunthorpe’s 3-0 demolition of Colchester.

Gary Hooper opened the scoring for the Iron nine minutes before half-time and Lansbury provided the assist for Hooper’s second goal on 59 minutes.

Lansbury, who showed no recurrence of the ankle injury which kept him out of England u-19 action in midweek, then got on the scoresheet himself ten minutes later, drilling the ball home from the edge of the penalty area after being set up by Paul Hayes.

Lansbury was substituted with fourteen minutes remaining and recieved a fantastic reception from the home crowd as the Iron tightened their grip on a play-off place.

Kerrea Gilbert- Peterborough 2 Leicester 0

Kerrea played the whole game as Leicester’s lead at the top of League One was slashed to four points after the Foxes succumbed at the hands of Peterborough.

Charlie Lee and Chris Whelpdale scored the decisive goals for Posh, who had manager Darren Ferguson sent to the stands, but it was an afternoon to forget for Gilbert and his team-mates.

Pedro Botelho- Huesca v Salamanca

Pedro has been named in the Salamanca squad and is expected to start at left-back against Huesca this evening.

Only XXL shirts left at Scunthorpe by the time Henri arrived then…

Hopefully Henry will get his chance when he arrives back….he will easily fill the gap left by Randall when he is sold.

he is having a really good loan spell much better than barazites and the other loanes lansbury is the best cm in the arsenal academy

It’s a shame about Randall, but he’s one of the older players in the Reserves now and hasn’t really showed any signs of pushing on.

I have rated Henri Lansbury very highly ever since i saw him in the euro under 17 championships. when he single handly got england to the final against spain but got injured in the semi final against France. The guy is like a gerrard, fabregas, he drives the team foward.

Do you think Armand Traore has a future and will he come back? And is Pedro going to stay on loan next season aswell?

  10. Jeorge Bird March 29, 2009 at 1:31 pm Reply

I think Traoré does have a future, I just hope is injury is not too serious. I’ve heard that Pedro won’t be returning to Arsenal, but I don’t think he’ll be staying at Salamanca either so we will have to wait and see.

There is an interesting interview with Mark Adkins discussing Henri Lansbury’s progress…. from the 2:00min mark onwards. He really rates him “going forward”, plays on the right, the left or as second striker…. but needs to learn how to play without the ball.

I think people have not seen Lanbsury play CM. Every time hes on the reserves he plays RW and people are not impressed. But trust me Lansbury is the real deal. Hes better than friampong, coqeulin, jay thomas in CM. Hes a very technical player if u didnt see his passport you would think he was spanish.

i think wenger wants pedro to play in the spanish primera liga next year a la carlos vela. he has said that salamanca get first choice if they get promoted though.

I disagree with adkins about Landsbury, he won’t make it as a winger or a second striker. He is a central midfielder and that’s the only position he has a future
