Loanees- Simpson impresses in Midlands derby, Gilbert helps Leicester rack up another win
Jay Simpson- Aston Villa 2 West Brom 1

Jay was handed his first Premier League start upfront alongside Luke Moore West Brom faced Aston Villa in a fiery Midlands derby. Jay started brightly, closing down the opposition and winning the ball before forcing a corner. He also linked up well with Moore and worked tirelessly for the team. However, despite the Baggies dominating the first 15 minutes of the game, it was Villa who took the lead when poor marking enabled Curtis Davis to head home against his former club. It was 2-0 before the break when Scott Carson made a howler of Gabriel Agbonlahor’s effort. Roman Bednar came on at half-time to replace Moore and the Baggies were soon back in the game after James Morrison scored against Villa for the second time this season after a great piece of skill on the edge of the box. However, Villa held out to temporarily move into the top three and it was a dissapointing day for West Brom who lost local pride as well as valuable points. Simpson can be very pleased with his performance, although on occasions he did dwell on the ball for too long.
Gavin Hoyte- Reading 4 Watford 0

Gavin had a night to forget as Watford suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of promotion-chasing Reading. Hoyte started at right-back and completed the whole 90 minutes and, despite showing some good touches early on, but the Royals soon took control. Chris Armstrong opened the scoring before the break and then Noel Hunt, Kevin Doyle and Leroy Lita extended the advantage in the second period. Hoyte wasn’t totally at fault for any of the goals, although maybe he should have been closer to Armstrong when he hit his effort. Afterwards, the defender said that a lack of concentration was key.
Kerrea Gilbert- Leicester 2 Leyton Orient 0

Kerrea played the whole game as Leicester maintained their position at the top of League One with a comprehensive 3-0 demolition of Leyton Orient. Matt Oakley, Mark Davies and Paul Dickov grabbed the goals whilst Kerrea looked solid at right-back.
Abu Ogogo- Bury 1 Barnet 0

Abu played 58 minutes before being substiuted as Barnet went down 1-0 to Bury. Abu impressed with some bombarding runs from right-back but was exposed defensively.
Pedro Botelho- Zaragoza v Salamanca

Pedro has returned from suspension and starts in tonight’s clash with Zaragoza.
Armand Traore- Portsmouth P Man.City P

Armand’s recent frustration continued as Pompey’s game with Man.City was called off because of a frozen pitch.
