Gavin started at right-back, making his debut for Watford against Scunthorpe in the FA Cup third round. He started shakily, commiting a couple of unneccessary fouls, but regained his composure as the game progressed. The Horents took the lead thanks to a Gregorz Rasiak strike on 67 minutes and held on for the victory. Hoyte was withdrawn with seven minutes remaining and was replaced by Chelsea loanee Liam Bridcutt.

Kerrea Gilbert- Leicester 0 Crystal Palace 0

Kerrea completed the whole game as Leicester managed to grind out a respectable 0-0 draw with Championship side Crystal Palace.

Jay Simpson- West Brom 1 Peterborough 0

After completing his loan switch to West Brom in midweek, Jay was named on the bench for today’s game against Peterborough, who were also reportedly interested in securing his services. After a goalless first-half, Simpson was introduced at the break in place of Robert Koren on the right-wing. Jay had a fierce shot saved by promising ‘keeper Joe Lewis before Jonas Olsson on 63 minutes with a header from a corner. It looked as if the Baggies had done enough to win it but, with just four minutes remaining, Craig Mackail-Smith struck to earn a replay for Peterborough.

Nacer Barazite- Forest Green 3 Derby 4

After extending his loan spell at Derby until the end of the season, Nacer found himself amongst the substitutes as Derby kicked off their FA Cup campaign hoping to avoid a potential giantkilling at the hands of non-league Forest Green. Their worst wishes came true when Jonathan Smith put the hosts ahead after 13 minutes and the home crowd was sent into delirium when their side doubled the lead seven minutes later through Alex Lawless. Derby fought back to make it 2-2 at half-time with goals from Rob Hulse and Martin Albrechsten. With 20 minutes to go and the scores still level, Nacer emerged from the bench in place of Gary Teale, hoping to make an impact on the game. Unfortunately, it was the hosts who would score next, with Paul Stonehouse making it 3-2. The Rams fought back to make it 3-3 with Paul Green latching on to a long ball down field. They then went ahead through Steve Davies with five minutes remaining after the hosts were reduced to ten men.

Armand Traore- Portsmouth 0 Bristol City 0

Armand was an un-used sub as Portsmouth began their defence of the FA Cup with a stuttering performance at home to Bristol City and will now face a replay after a 0-0 draw.

Abu Ogogo- Barnet P Grimsby P

Abu was hoping to be involved at Underhill against Grimsby in League Two. However, the game was postponed due to a frozen pitch. A new date for this fixture is yet to be arranged.
