Loan round-up: Traore gets 90 minutes as Pompey beat Spurs
Left-winger Armand Traore played 90 minutes as Portsmouth bounced back from a difficult week with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham at Fratton Park this afternoon. Last week’s 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Man.City and the midweek defeat at home to Chelsea meant that Pompey needed a win from this fixture to restore some much-needed confidence. They took the lead through Jermain Defoe, who scored against his former club and then doubled it after Peter Crouch reacted quickest to Traore’s deflected effort to seal the win.
Pedro Botelho and Havard Nordtveit didn’t feature as Salamanca beat Castellon 1-0 thanks to Isaac’s 22nd minute strike. The Union had defender Bustos sent-off twenty minutes from time and Nordtveit could replace him against Gimnastic next week.
Philippe Senderos is still awaiting his AC Milan debut after missing the derby with Inter through injury.
