Fran Merida- Spain 4 Bulgaria 0
Fran Merida was on the scoresheet for Spain last night as they disposed of Bulgaria in their final game of this summer’s UEFA under-19 Championships in Czech Republic. Two defeats in their first two games meant that Spain were already out of the competition, but knew that a win would secure them a place in next summer’s FIFA under-20 World Cup. And a win was exactly what they got, with Aaron opening the scoring and Emilio hitting a brace before Merida, who was playing wide on the left, sealed the win with a sweet strike. With hindsight, Spain might look back and think that they could have qualified had Fran not been absent for the opening game against Germany but Arsenal fans won’t mind as it means that Fran will now return to the club ahead of what is set to be an important season for him.

he has good technique, ball control and shooting ability

I think Merida is a quality player. I would however be quick to admit that Cesc and Ramsey are a class apart.
