Following on from our news yesterday about Kerrea Gilbert’s proposed loan move to League One side Leicester City, both clubs have now confirmed that the Hammersmith born right-back will be spending a season with the Foxes. It’s his third loan spell since he joined the club, having previously spent time with Cardiff City and most recently Southend United. This is an opportunity for him to prove to people, particularly Arsenal fans, that he has the correct attitude and temperament to make it. Although he will probably be sold on eventually, it should be good experience for him and will bode him well for the future.
There are also some transfer rumours flying around today. goal.com says that French under-21 international Yohann Gourcuff could join Arsenal from AC Milan as part of the Emmanuel Adebayor deal. Personally I think Adebayor will choose Barcelona if he does leave, but Arsenal may consider AC Milan’s offer is Gourcuff is involved. We were constantly linked to him last summer and he is one of the most highly-regarded youngsters in European football. Today’s Sun newspaper and various other sources link us with River Plate striker Falcao. At 22, he’s just about the right age and he could prove to be a worthwile addition.
More tomorrow.
