Fran Merida, Pedro Botelho- Real Sociedad 1 Salamanca 1
After helping Spain to qualify for the UEFA u-19 European Championships earlier this week, Fran Merida returned to domestic action as his Real Sociedad side took on Pedro Botelho’s Salamanca. Fran began the game on the bench, whilst Botelho was also absent from Salamanca’s starting XI.
Sociedad took an early lead through Delibasic, but Salamanca levelled through Isaac on 20 minutes.
Fran came on with 21 minutes remaining, replacing Alvaro Novo.
Next week, Real Sociedad take on Alaves whilst Salamanca face Celta Vigo.
INTERNATIONAL NEWS
Kieran Gibbs-Belarus 0 England 0
Having won their previous two games, England knew that a point against Belarus would be enough to qualify for the final tournament.
They managed to earn the point they needed and go into tomorrow’s draw for the finals.
Armand Traore- France 0 Italy 2
France had a 100% record going into their final fixture with Italy, but with both teams tied on six points it was a must win game for Les Bleus. However, they proved no match for the Italians who won 2-0 to progress to the finals.
With qualification now complete, the draw for the finals will take place tomorrow.

So, Arsenal will be represented at the tournament by Fran Merida and Kieran Gibbs, of Spain and England respectively. Spain are the current holders, whilst England have reached their first tournament since 2004. The tournament runs from the 14-26 July and will take place in the Czech Republic.
