Arsenal’s Dutch striker Nacer Barazite has stated that a loan spell may be needed in order for him to make the final step in reaching the Gunners first-team. Barazite was top-scorer for the Reserves last season and has been tipped by former Arsenal player Stewart Robson as the player that is most likely to break through next season.
Speaking to arsenal.com, Nacer said
“A loan experience is always good for every young player but my aim is to play in the first team for Arsenal. And in pre-season I will do my very best and prove what I can do to the boss and give him the choice to make me stay.
“A loan would be good and I wouldn’t say no to it but at the moment I am focused on the Arsenal first team and hopefully I can stay and achieve that.
Rumours have been circulating about him returning to his homeland to play with Ajax, who could forge a partnership with Arsenal. Nacer is currently on international duty with Netherlands as they attempt to qualify for the UEFA u-19 Championships. They drew 2-2 with Russia on Saturday and take on Greece today. Kieran Gibbs could also be in action today as England play Poland and Armand Traore’s France play Switzerland.
