SUNDAY’S MATCHES
Fran Merida- Real Sociedad 2 Hercules Alicante 1
Fran Merida celebrated signing a new contract by scoring the winner for Real Sociedad against Hercules Alicante. Sociedad went behind after Agirre Sendoa’s 64th minute strike before Delibasic put the home side back on level terms twelve minutes from time. With their renewed confidence, Sociedad pushed forward in search of a winner and it came with eight minutes to go, when Merida struck a low, hard shot into the corner of the net. What an exceptional week it has been for the young Spaniard.
Pedro Botelho- Ejido 1 Salamanca 1
Pedro missed out through injury as Salamanca were held to a 1-1 draw by Ejido. Quique Martin scored from the penalty spot on 82 minutes to give Salamanca the lead, but it was cancelled out by a Robles strike for the hosts just two minutes later.
SATURDAY’S MATCHES
Kieran Gibbs, Mark Randall- Norwich 2 Burnley 0
Kieran and Mark were hoping to face eachother in this fixture, but instead they both had to settle for a place on the bench. Norwich took an early lead through Dion Dublin after just two minutes. Substitute Ched Evans sealed the win in stoppage time. Mark and Kieran were both unused substitutes. The result means Burnley drop down to 11th place, whilst Norwich climb to 16th.
Jay Simpson- Millwall 1 Gillingham 1
Jay started the game on the bench for the Lions and watched on as they went behind to Nicky Southall’s strike on 26 minutes. Ten minutes into the second half, Jay replaced former Gunner Ryan Smith. Millwall pulled level through Paul Robinson fifteen minutes from time. It was a crucial point for Millwall, but they are still not safe from relegation. They are two points clear of the drop zone, with four games left to play.
Carlos Vela- Osasuna 0 Recreativo Huelva 1
Carlos missed out through suspension as his Osasuna side lost 1-0 to Recreativo Huelva.
FRIDAY’S MATCHES
Vincent van den Berg- Go Ahead Eagles o BV Veendam 1
Vincent didn’t feature as the Eagles were beaten 1-0 by BV Veendam.

Great to hear that Merida got to score a goal. Hopefully this will lead to him getting more playing time from now on. Preferably in the form of starts instead of coming on as a sub.
