Gilberto: On target
Arsenal overcame Colorado Rapids with a 2-1 victory at London Colney on Thursday. Arsenal named a strong starting line up for this fixture, with Robin van Persie, Gilberto, Theo Walcott and Lukasz Fabianski all in action. Arsenal also included several young professionals in their squad including the likes of Kyle Bartley, Gavin Hoyte, Paul Rodgers and Abu Ogogo.
Walcott was taken off with an injury on 60 minutes, whilst Gilberto converted a penalty for the Gunners.
Arsenal used this game as an opportunity to look at some of the players who didn’t feature for the under-18s last week against Norwich. You can read a full match report of today’s game here.
Arsenal’s next game is against Charlton in the u-18s league on Saturday.
