Cheshunt born Arsenal youngster Sam Byles is widely tipped for a great future by many of the coaching staff at the club for a great future. After progressing through the Youth ranks at Hale End, he will sign scholarship forms in the summer and will be hoping to make a big impression in his first year as a scholar. He has already made one substitute appearance for the under-18s, against Ipswich in January and nearly came on again against Norwich last weekend. A right-back, it looks as if he will be battling it out with Anton Blackwood for the position next season, after Craig Eastmond has switched to playing in midfield. He has been playing his football for the u-16s this term, where he has caught the eye of many spectators for his tough tackling and attacking flair. It will be interesting to see how well he handles the step up to under-18s football, but the signs look good for a player who is barely sixteen.
