Jay Simpson- Huddersfield Town 1 Millwall 0

Jay Simpson played 74 minutes as Millwall suffered yet another defeat, this time at the hands of Huddersfield. The result leaves the Lions just one point ahead of the relegation zone. Luke Beckett scored the only goal of the game for Huddersfield on twenty nine minutes from the penalty spot. Millwall battled hard to try and get back into the game, but their efforts were to no avail. Simpson was withdrawn with sixteen minutes to play and was replaced by Adrian Forbes as Millwall looked to shake things up and grab a point, but Huddersfield hung on for a deserved victory. Arsenal have today been linked to Stockport County youngster Tommy Rowe. The eighteen year old came through the youth ranks at the club and hit the headlines with a hat-trick away to Rotherham. His manager Jim Gannon has said that Tommy has the potential to go on to play for England one day and that a move to a bigger club is inevitable. Arsenal scouts are now said to be interested in signing the youngster, although Tottenham are looking at him as well. He is a left-winger and that is a problem position for us at the moment. He would probably need a season or two with the Reserves to settle in and by then he could be good enough to play in our first-team. Or he could just be another hyped-up youngster, although his manager’s comments suggest otherwise.
