So, Theo CAN score goals

On the back of the homegrown players debate yesterday, Kieran Gibbs was in action last night as England u-19s beat Croatia 2-0. In addition, Theo Walcott scored for the u-21s which proves that he does have goalscoring talent, even if he hasn’t completely manifested it in terms of club football just yet.

Young full-back Armand Traore has proved just how modernised footballers are nowadays, as he revealed that he uses YouTube to watch his forthcoming opponents. Well, that’s certainly original and the interviews on Arsenal TV Online at the moment if you want to watch it.

I’m going to the England-Switzerland game tonight and whilst I am aware there will be no Arsenal players on display, there will be a couple that have come through our Academy in Ashley Cole and David Bentley. It’s fairly safe to say that I’m not great admirers of either of them, at least we can say they are products of our Youth Academy. Hopefully the likes of Lansbury can follow their footsteps into the full national side in the not too distant future.

I think it shows he can finish well so that made me happy. But he was given the freedom of the left hand side - that sort of space can never be found in the premier league.
he ran at players and won a couple of freekicks which was good to see as well. should be good for his confidence and development though so I was pleased overall with him.

I for one I’m ashamed that Arsenal has no player in the England team but pack 5 players in the French.

I’m happy that Sepp Blatter is doing something to limit foreign players. Flamini, Clichy are exceptional but the rest can find their match in English players.

You’re totally right Howard. Obviously big clubs that want to compete with the best in Europe should be picking players based on their passport rather than their abilities.

How foolish that all of us, and in that I include people like Arsene, Alex Ferguson, Ericksson andwhat’s his name at Liverpool have missed that in the past before you, the daily mail and the well-respected Sepp Blatter showed us all the way.
