News round-up: Freeman deal not done yet

Posted by Jeorge Bird on January 15, 2008

It appears that the deal to sign Luke Freeman from Gillingham has not been completed yet. Talks have stalled on the transfer fee and it seems that we may have to wait until the summer to get our hands on him.

In other news, Paul Rodgers has been talking about his admiration for Mark Randall.

More tomorrow, including part four of our ‘ Who is most likely to make it at Arsenal?’ series. Thanks for reading.

More on: James Dunne

Posted by Jeorge Bird on January 15, 2008

A hard-working and tenacious central-midfielder, James signed scholarship forms with the club in the summer of 2006 and, after an impressive debut season, he signed as a professional in September. His hard-work often goes un-noticed in Neil Banfield’s Reserve side as he sits back and shields the defence, whilst the likes of Lansbury and Randall push on in search of goals. He was fantastic for the u-18s last season, getting on the scoresheet in the 7-0 demolition of Crystal Palace. He has been a mainstay of the Reserves this campaign, although he is still one of the least-hyped youngsters at the club, which is understandable considering the quality of the players around him. His long term future at the club may be under some doubt because of the vast amount of players around him, but if he knuckles down and carries on doing his job, then he has a decent chance of making it.
