Wenger plans English revolution

Morning all, the site is continuing to grow as we gain attention from many different places in the world. Recently, I’ve had many referrers from Sweden and Russia, and the more people that know about the site, the better.
As I’m sure you’ll know by now, our u-18s thrashed Burnley 5-1 in the FA Youth Cup last night and now we face the holders Liverpool at Anfield. I must say that I wasn’t very confident going in to the game, but Arsenal proved me wrong. All the scorers were midfielders and more importantly they were all English as well. The Liverpool game will be tough, but who knows? Anything could happen.
Arsene Wenger has been talking about Luke Freeman and how he feels he would enhance the club’s growing reputation for producing top quality English youngsters. He’s said that the likes of Henri Lansbury and Kieran Gibbs are ready to play in the first-team next season and I would have to agree with him. Although, a season out on loan would do them both good.
Mark Randall is the answer to Arsenal’s midfield problems, according to this article. While it may be a little farfetched, he is a decent player and scored again last night, although he is still a little way off the first team.
Finally, you may have noticed that the site is now open to debate and Anthony has already posted an article, so give him your support. Remeber if you would like to write for the site then let me know, and thanks for reading.

Hey Jeorge!First of all congratulations! it is a site that I have been waiting for, which gives me the lowdown and inside info on our youth and upcoming talent that I have been desperate to find. Well Jeorge are you English? coz it would be great to have someone to interact with, who is close to Arsenal. You see I am from a remote part of India, called Nagaland, that even most Indians dont know exists, let alone the rest of the world. So I’ll be looking to you and your site a lot in the future for info and interaction. Thanks! By the way do you think Kyle bartley will feature for us in the near future, how good is he?

  2. January 12, 2008 at 12:47 pm | #2

yeah i’m english and i go to quite a few of these games as well, and do regular match reports. I think Kyle Bartley has a good chance of playing for us in the future but there’s a long way to go yet

Its great that English players are beginning to appear in the reckoning for Arsenal, but still I’ll believe it only when I see them in the first team. Contrary to many foreign supporters who dont care about the lack of English players in the team, I myself has been so disappointed with the lack of english players in recent years at our club. Regardless of what people might our might not say about the subject, despite being a foreigner, I feel the club has to retain more than anything else its
identity and quite frankly this all foreign team as much as I like it, does leave a sour taste in the mouth sometimes. Viera, lifting the trophy twice for us in recent years, (as much as I like him) never quite had the heartwarming impact which I felt watching Tony(the greatest)lift it for us. I am proud (despite being a foreigner) that Arsenal are still an English club in the midst of two American and one russian club at the top of English football. Jeorge you guys there in England need to do something seriously so that Arsenal dont fall into the hands of Usmanov or any other foreign influence. I cannot believe that David dein being an Englishman himself can do something so greedy to destabilise the club. We here, despite our anonymity, extend our full support. Well seems like you will be going to watch the birmingham game, live, you are indeed very lucky as it is nothing but a fantasy for us here (it must be quite something!) but I’ll be following it on T.V. though. Thanks again! will be getting in touch with you a lot more. Up the guns!!!

  8. January 12, 2008 at 8:15 pm | #8

I think he was talking about u-14 players, but you might be right.

hi mate is it true Dimitrov is coming to arsenal for 2million, Wenger needs to get some quality wingers any coming thru our youth

well, for me, an insight into any transfer at Arsenal is a very hard thing to know about, because arsenal disguise these things well and not confirm anything unless its solid, so while the Dimitrov transfer is possible, who knows…

as for youngsters coming through on the wings there is Gibbs who is an exceptional talent, look out for him to become a carling cup regluar next season, and randall we have seen installed in this roll when walcott was sick for the match against blackburn, and while both are strong talents its unlikely that they are close to breaking into the actual first team as they lack physical strength and their technical ability still considerably lower than that of Rosicky, Hleb and Fabregas.

as for other possible wingers for arsenal Merida played last years U-17 Fifa world champs for spain on the left wing, and showed that he can do very well in this role, although he also looks a little fragile, but personally i’d love to see how Traore would go on the wing, he is very quick and although a few under-achieveing games of late he has massive potential and wonderful technical ability and can deliver a killer cross at times, he just needs to work on consistancy in my opinion

Jason Banton has left the club and joined Tottenham

    Hi Jeorge,

I’ve heard that Rhema Obed left Arsenal in trhe end of last season but you have put him in the Schoolars. And do you think there’s any chance for Arsenal to grab John Bostock?, I really hope so cause he is something special.

  18. January 19, 2008 at 7:48 pm | #18

i think john bostock is going to sign a new deal at palace, so we will probably miss out on him.
