More on: Gavin Hoyte

Posted on Updated on

Justin Hoyte’s younger brother signed professional early this season after a fine debut season as a first-year scholar. Comfortable at either right-back or centre-back, Gavin has been named captain of the u-18s this campaign. His good form has also seen him feature in three Carling Cup squads this season, though he is yet to make his first-team debut. He is an excellent sprinter, one of the fastest players at the club and has excelled for the Reserves in the last couple of seasons. He is also an England u-17 international and went to the World Cup for that age group in the summer, along with his fellow Arsenal team-mates Rhys Murphy and Henri Lansbury. He has said that he has always wanted to play alongside his brother at Emirates Stadium and, if he keeps up his good form, that dream could soon be a reality.

i actually rate nordtveit higher because his all-round play is much better, but that’s not to say hoyte can’t make it here.
