More on: Henri Lansbury

Highly regarded by Arsene Wenger, central midfielder Henri is a mainstay of the Arsenal Academy and has already made his debut in the Carling Cup this season, coming on as a late substitute against Sheffield United in the Carling Cup Fourth Round. He impressed last season in a pre-season tournament in Holland, then had an excellent season as he broke into both the Reserves and the u-18s. He was even named on the bench for the 6-3 thrashing of Liverpool at Anfield, despite still being a schoolboy. He needs to work on the defensive side to his game, but he has played well alongside the likes of Randall and Dunne for the Reserves and has an eye for goal, occasionally scoring wonder-goals for the u-18s. Henri is still only a first-year scholar, but it wouldn’t suprise me if he follows in the footsteps of Armand Traore and makes the first-team squad next season. Although, there are a lot of players in his position at the moment.
